This simple sphere transforms as the flush lid lifts and then rotates out of the way as you turn the dial on the bottom. PrintingThis prints pretty easily in PLA. I used 0.2mm layers, but for the lid, I used a variable layer height to smooth out the steps at the top of the sphere. The lid also needs paint-in supports on just the surface indicated. Remove these supports after printing. Assembly1. Do not insert the stem of the dial into the box body yet! It is a little tricky to disassembly.2. Test screw the stem of the dial into the hole in the post on the lid. Note that it is a left-handed thread. Work the thread back & forth, wearing away any nits and goobers, until the two operate smoothly. You can add a little lubricant to the thread if you like. Make sure that the lid can screw all the way down until it seats against a hard stop.3. Now insert the stem of the dial into the bottom of the base. It will click into place with the small clip shown below. Press the dial against the bottom
