Have you ever had trouble keeping a drill bit straight up and down when drilling a hole. A drill press is the best solution, but if you don’t have one, your board is too big, or your board doesn’t fit deep enough in the drill press, you need another solution. These models give you a guide to keep the bit perpendicular to the board you’re hand drilling. To use the guide first set the bit in position to drill the hole and then slide the guide lightly against the interior corner of the guide. This will keep the bit straight. Hold the guide by holding it on the back “porch” of the guide. Now drill the hole. There are 3 sizes of guide. Use the tallest one that will work for the hole you are drilling. The guides have an opening in the base so the drilling chips and dust doesn’t push against the guide. If you are using a drill bit depth stop, there are 2 spacers included that have a wider opening at the bottom to accommodate most stops. These spacers are stackable so you can use any stop depth.
