Polysphere

A 12 piece 3d Printable Sphere based off a dodecahedron shape. The sphere is made by printing 5 "Side_male" 5 "Side_Female" and 2 "Side_Center" pieces. Snap 5 female pieces symmetrically around one center piece. Snap 5 male pieces around the other center piece. Snap the two halves of the sphere together. Snapping requires some force.


I have included manually designed support material. Printing should not require a raft or supports. Some parts will have to bridge. The bridges don't come out too well, but it doesn't really matter because they're not visible in the assembled sphere.

This is a working prototype. Tested on a Replicator 2x with ABS and .2 layer height.
