Pond Pump Filter

I have a small outside waterfall and sometimes we get big algae bloom where its like a thick hair, it instantly clogs the pump inlet, its just a tiny disc with couple slots in it. So I made a much larger inlet cover with many slots hopefully this will still allow water to come in and still block debris so I wont have to constantly fix it. As you will see in one photo there is a slight air space in the print which can easily be solved with glue or I will use a 3d print pen to add some more plastic

I had done this in abs, and it seemed brittle

the white one in the photos is pla and seems much stiffer

I left the original 123d design file if you want to change it up
I would like to have small mesh holes instead of the slits I made
I just dont know how to do mesh designs yet with the program I used
