extend the wires from the original charging port by 1-2cm, solder them to a generic usb-c port and glue the usb port into the model. you can also solder wires to the D+ and D- pins of the mini-B connector, in order to have usb data transfer. needs a battery mod (e.g. xiaomi bm46 instead of umd drive), since it sticks out inside the battery tray.
