Update 06/02/2026:
When I added the HSW cover on the side where the spool holder is placed, it became impossible to use the spool holder, as it won't fit. So I made a variant of the Q2 bin adapter to have the spool holder interface closer to the edge. Check Q2 Bin Adapter for HSW.STEP or .STL.
Just printed a proto in ASA and it fits quite well. Added some photos of the new adapter and spool holder installed.
I wanted a waste bin for the Q2 that could be fixed in place and easy to pick and put back.
When I got the printer, one of my first prints was a very big L-shaped bin that was great, but often moved away from the printer letting the filament waste all over the floor. I searched for something more suitable for my needs but could not find anything that satisfied me.
So, I made this one.
It uses the fixation for the spool holder (which I am currently not using) to support the an adapter that holds the bin in place. I find it quite simple and easy to use.
I also designed a bin but t
