After about two weeks of prototyping and testing various snap fit connectors, this snap fit camera case for Raspberry Pi Zero will be your go-to case.
It is very compact, measuring 74x32x15mm and requires no screws to attach the Pi and the camera.
The case currently works well with my 40mm long Camera Cable that I sell on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/222491606180?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
It also works with the 38mm cable that comes with the official Pi Zero case (but this case is more customizable).
Potential improvements: mounting mechanism, stronger snap fit parts.
