This is a machine that draws in sand. Inspired by Bruce Shapiro's Sisyphus but without any idea how his mechanism actually works. It does a pretty good job of creating sand drawings and there is a blog post about it here http://robdobson.com/2017/02/a-line-in-the-sand/
