Six Button Gamepad

This 6 button gamepad is part of a modular portable gaming device project which could encourage people to quickly prototype and personalize their own handhelds or gamepads. All the files are licensed under the public domain, so you are free to modify them and sell or use them as references for your own builds.

Specifically for this case, the button layout and number of buttons could be different. If you create multiple button boxes with different layouts and then wire each box's tact switches with a quick connector and wire a matching female/male quick connector to your gpio pins or a microcontroller like a teensy, then you should be able to quickly on the fly swap out different boxes with different button layouts. If you are playing a fighting game, then pop in a 6 button layout. If you are playing a simple platformer like Mario brothers then pop in a two or four button layout.
