Hello everyone,
I started this project because my dad wanted to have a cajon. The goal of this project is making an e-cajon that uses the piezo elements and a microphone to read the amount of decibels and type of sound that is produced and create a matching color with the LED strip or LED ring.
The design has been divided in a number of configurations.
- Electronic LED ring
- Electronic LED strip
- Standard Snareholder
- Standard Cilinder
The model is highly customizable due to use of Solidworks equations. I recommend starting with the equations file to see the amount your cajon can be customized.
The box also has multiple ways of being supported.
This project is still a work in progress. The smart cajon has now been mechanically designed, but the the electrical design and software must still be finalised. I will upload these parts as soon as their done.
Converting the solidworks drawing can be done with this tutorial.
