I designed this standing on the backs of giants like these guys,

Freestanding, with or without the crossbar, or mounted on 20x20mm.
These rollers were salvaged from the top rack of an old dishwasher, but would be easy to mod in some bearings with the wheels from MartinMajewskis' Thing, second ref, above. The holes are 5x15mm.

Coulda just gone with straight flat bars, but i was going for a "Industrial Revolution meets Star Trek" kinda vibe.
