Standby Engine

This engine uses a piston, wrist pin, and connecting rod setup similar to that of an automobile engine. Valve operation is simplified and handled through slots in the crankshaft. To begin construction, start with a finished metal piece measuring 1/4" x 1" x 2" for the frame. Apply layout dye and mark the center points for all holes. Then machine all the holes, but avoid plugging the 1/16" hole until after a drill has been passed through the bearing during later assembly.
