Hello, my name is "Griddlock", and I hope you have a great time building this FUNCTIONAL MODEL of Theo Jansen's "Strandbeest". I used Theo's exact ratios to generate the leg and crankshaft pieces, then did some of my own design for the body to make it simple to add motors for making the 'animal' self-propelling.
This package contains two variants of the Strandbeest. The parts labeled "2-pair" have two leg pairs on each half of the chassis. The "3-pair" have three. Simple enough. You simply have to decide which one you are going to build.
Please read "Printing Notes.txt" for instructions and tips on print settings for each of the files.
Update: About an hour after I finished making the instructional video and .stl package...I fumbled the model and instantly broke three of the eight joints on the chassis! I did print this from PLA, which is pretty brittle, but it is good to know where the actual weak points are. Just a heads up!
