We have all had our fair share of support failures running long prints and driving us CRAZY, you try to pile things underneath in an effort to clutch victory from the hands of defeat. Well now there is a better way. Introducing the Support Savers V1. I wanted a better way, something I could have ready when I need it, that I could adjust, that would stick to the plate on its own so I wouldn't need tape or glue. So I came up with this. It has a screw adjustment for fine tuning height, has a magnet and a rubber gasket from a water hose on the bottom to keep it in place and keep it from slipping. It comes in various heights all which have about a 20 mm different between all the way down and top of the screw. I've only done a couple of controlled tests on my corexy and worked great but still needs more testing. Simple to print as is with no support. Need at least one base, one top and one cap. You will need a magnet, a rubber hose gasket, super glue and some plumbers tape. Just glue the magnet to the bottom, then glue the gasket to the bottom and put some painters tape on the screw threads as needed to keep a tight seal so it doesn't wobble. I left it loose so most people shouldn't have issues fitting but the tape makes it much tighter so it doesn't move. The top cap can be glued on with plane old glue so you can take it off when done and use the top over and over and just reprinting some caps as needed. Supplies I used: These links are affiliate links, if you buy something thru a link I may make pennies, YEAH ME, you have been warned.
