Surface Mount Box

A simple surface mount box for low voltage wire management. The wires for garage door optical sensors are regularly left hanging haphazardly. I wanted to clean this up a bit and protect the wires and connections.

The box dimensions are approximately 80mm x 80mm x 32mm (external) and 76mm x 76mm x 28mm (internal) with 2mm walls. It is split into a top and bottom and has two snap fit clips on the edges and a hole for wire egress. It can be surface mounted with screwholes inside, or one long screw through the center. The center hole also secures the top. Some type of electrical putty or grommet could further seal the wire egress hole for insects, etc.

I have included the Fusion 360 .F3D file for easy modification for your specific use. I wish more people would do this!
