Thoracotomy Trainer

This is a Remix of the great Model: Designed by Zach Bromet with help from Emma Huston, Erick Przybylski and Dr. Nicole Werner. The Thorax was split to fit into a P1S and should be assembled using wire, super glue and threaded rods. This model is based on a file from the NIH3D website. It recreates a human sternum and ribcage and was designed to be a low-cost, high-fidelity, 3D-printed simulator to allow surgery residents, specifically PGY4 rising trauma chiefs, to gain experience performing a clamshell thoracotomy. This model is designed to be mounted on thin cylindrical metal rails, fixed with springs to provide tension when placing retractors.
