Toroid Helpers

Many hams "wind their own": inductors using toroids and wire.
One of the challenges in doing this (besides counting ;) is getting the wire tight and nice around the toroid. For some of the most common toroid sizes (50, 68, 80 and 94) I have designed these little helpers. Once fastened in a vise they press the wire towards the inside of the toroid (see picture above) and hold the toroid in place for you to straighten out the wire on the outside.
If you are using enameled copper wire it might be a good idea to wrap some teflon strip around the helpers like I did in order to protect the coating.
