I designed this toy 3d printer as a gift for my daughter [last Christmas](http://unforgettability.net/content/page/blog_190214/). It could be the perfect gift to encourage a young future maker. Or it might make a great desk toy for an adult who can't wait for work to end so that he or she can get home to their own printer.

It was meant to be a model of our printer which my daughter and I built from the wonderful parametric [Mendel90](https://reprap.org/wiki/Mendel90) plans shared by [Nophead](http://hydraraptor.blogspot.com/).

At first I thought I would just customize the config files of the actual Mendel90 in order to generate STLs for a 1/3 scale model. Then I thought I could find stls to make models of the vitamins such as the motors. Unfortunately things kind of start to go bad when scaled that far.
