This is a LED frame made up of triangular shape cells for use with LEDs/LED strips to create images of various birds.
LED strips are laid into the slots in the back and these illuminate each triangular cell with a color. A sheet of white paper or other diffusion material is placed over the front for each pixel to be lit up evenly. A piece of clear acrylic is needed to hold the paper against the cells. You might not need the acrylic if your diffusion material is stiff enough but I have not tried anything else. Maybe thick Mylar would work? These LED strips are controlled via a Raspberry Pi.
I will later include a separate back for use with flat-top LEDs if you don't want to use strips and a Raspberry Pi. You will be locked into a certain bird color scheme then, of course.
i will also later include the Python script.
This is all very much a work in progress, but I do have the finished prototype done and working but it's really rough right now as you can see in the included pi
