Universal Surface Mount

I created these mounts to attach phone and networking equipment to walls and the bottoms of shelves in my equipment room and media center, but it should work for any relatively rectangular object.

Select 'Open in Customizer' on the right to tweak its dimensions to match the object you want to mount, set the size of the flat-headded screws you'd like to use, and adjust thicknesses and tooth sizes to to alter the strength of the grip on your object. You can create brackets that attach to the corners of your objects, or just the sides, so if you'd like you can create a variety of points of contact to suit your needs.

Theoretically these things could hold an arbitrary amount of weight depending on how thick you set the dimensions. Although, unless you're willing to alter the OpenSCAD source (which I've tried to make fairly easy) each bracket accommodates only one screw.
