In this era of Zoom learning, students are using their laptops more than ever. My laptop gets hot after hours of use, and so I have created a desktop laptop stand/shelf which provides an area for air circulation under and around the laptop, and it offers space for extra desktop storage.

In my experimentation with the design, I created prototypes. Although not as aerodynamic or as lightweight, the design still worked. My laptop stayed cooler, and I was able to keep my workspace less cluttered, at the same time. Ironically, this laptop stand would be incredibly helpful but is impossible to create during the pandemic, as my high school’s Innovation and Design Lab has been closed since March 13. This has been the biggest challenge of the project.
