Our wind chimes attract “mud dabbers” that like to build nests inside. This changes the resonance characteristics of the tubes so that the chimes go: Bong!!!, Bong!!!, Boink…
The parameterized file needs a measurement of the inside diameter and outside tube diameter. Print a plug for each end. The STL file has been generated using 23mm and 24mm I/O tube diameters.
The OpenSCAD design file is included so custom size plugs may be created.
The weight of the plastic plug will lower the chime frequency but to my untrained ear I couldn’t tell the difference before and after the installation.
