This is a wire coupler i have designed. It bites in to the wires and it ensures a good connection while leaving a small portion of the metal exposed for measurements, therefore a turn of electric tape is recommended in order to avoid shorts.
These should be used as an alternative when soldering is impossible, or if you have to make quick connections.
