This is a simple tool for straightening wire as it comes off a spool. Available in two forms: an integrated spool holder with straightener, or an even simpler straightening clip that can be left on a wire coming off a separate holder.
The design focuses on simplicity and reliability. There are no adjustments on the device - all adjustments are made in CAD dimensions and/or slicer settings. This will take some time investment. But once dialed in, you will have a tool that never falls apart and never needs readjustment.
Posted STL files are tuned specifically for my spool of 18 gauge copper wire and my printer. To adjust for minor differences in printer behavior and/or another wire diameter, make a copy of the Onshape CAD file (free Onshape account is available for makers) and edit dimensions accordingly.
