My recently published Zip Dry Lock Desiccant Holding Spool Grip and Zip Dry Lock Desiccant Spool Grip with Humidity Meter have a cover tag that has clear acrylic window to provide a view of the desiccant bead color to judge when it needs to be recharged. The problem with the window is that it must be sourced and fabricated. Therefor, I designed a window that can be 3D printed. While it is not transparent enough to clearly see the beads it is sufficient to see the color change. To keep the grip’s temperature tolerance, I wanted to print it in ABS. Bambu Labs does not sell transparent ABS so I sourced some generic transparent ABS from Amazon. However, polycarbonate (PC) which Bambu does sell would probably work as well. If you are not concerned with temperature tolerance PETG should also work.
