Aspi

L'"Aspi", aspo in italiano, è lo strumento che veniva usato per avvolgere il filo di lana in matassa. La cassa del''aspi" veniva riempita d'acqua e il gomitolo di lana grezza immerso nell'acqua. Il filo veniva svolto bagnato dal gomitolo e riavvolto sull'aspi per dare al filo la forma di matassa.
Sull'aspi si avvolgevano più matasse che, al termine, venivano sfilate dall'aspi e messe ad asciugare o immerse in pentoloni bollenti con del colorante naturale. Tutti i colori venivano derivati da tinture di origine vegetale.
