I wanted to start adding different sized threaded brass inserts into my 3D printed designs for a more durable product. I found an 80 watt soldering iron that has replacable tips, and a set of heat-set insert tips on Amazon. After trying it by hand, I thought it would be better to use a drill press to insert them squarely.
So this is a bracket designed to mate the soldering iron body to the chuck of a drill press. It uses a 2 1/2 inch 1/4-20 bolt for the drill to clamp to. The ring is split to allow the power cord through and the two struts are spaced apart to allow the electrical plug to pass through.
