Another robot project inspired by mecha media.
Using the same skeleton architecture as the Buster Mech to speed up development, the Range Mech was deployed by Earth's forces to provide mid-long range fire support.
The Range Mech's arms were equipped with high powered energy casters that required the installation of a higher capacity but much heavier energy backpack. Armor on the torso and legs of the mech were redesigned to be lighter, but still relatively durable, to compensate for the extra weight added by the backpack. The head was upgraded with improved cameras as well as antennae that provide enhanced the mech's radar range and stability.
The Range Mech model was designed with a focus on simplicity, durability, and ease of printing.
Joints are achieved through a system of 3mm pins that give just enough friction while also easily removed with pliers (for maximum strength, print these so that the long side of the pin is parallel to the build plate).
